My Lagom Life!!

Some of books
It’s 2015 and I'm trying to get back on my feet, back to this blog. It has been a long time since I visit here since my last post in last September 2014.

My Lagom Life Here In Sweden! What is Lagom? it doesn’t actually have an English equivalent (which could explain a lot) and it’s hard to translate directly. But it basically means: just the right amount. Lagom doesn’t have the negative connotation of “sufficient” It works in a lot of different contexts.
When searching for unique words, this one was always proudly suggested. “How are you?” can be answered with lagom. “How is the weather?” “Lagom”  Someone can be a “lagom” height. This term not only has many applications but it represents the Swedish cultural and social ideals of equality and fairness. So the word itself is now being used in everyday settings to mean “average” or “just right.” This is Lagom!

What have I been doing lately? Sometimes this question can be quite scary..because time flies too fast! I can´t believe that it´s already 2015, I lived in Sweden for 4 years now !!! I am currently studing swedish as a secound language in highschool level (gymnasienivå) and I also studying Vocational programs (adult education) about Child and recreation education (distance). I can say my life is really busy right now. Full time study.

I can explain to you guys about education here after SFI, Swedish for immigrants or ‘Svenska för invandrare’. SFI is basic Swedish language training for adults who are not Swedish native speakers. There are two possible options within SFI: General (SFI) and Academic (SFI för akademiker). Both groups follow the same program. The word ‘Academic’ means that people in this group have academic background (any studies at university level in any country). It is assumed, that people with academic background learn faster. The ‘Academic’ group starts SFI at C-level (see the scheme), so it skips A and B-levels.

After SFI, most of people go to the Grundläggande course is a preparatory course for the studies in Gymnasium. After passing this course, you will move to the next level – Komvux (KOMmunal VUXenutbildning, ‘municipal adult education’). It is a form of secondary education for adults in Sweden. It is primarily intended for adults who did achieve the grades needed for higher education.

After Grundläggande course you go to the Gymnasium level courses: Svenska som Andra Språk 1 (SvAS 1, SvAS 2 and SvAS 3.) Gymnasium level means that now you have an ability to study on Swedish Gymnasium level. This doesn’t only include Swedish language. You can choose different courses and subjects (English, Math, etc). Its depends on what do you want to study in University. Gymnasium - is a preparatory level for the university studies, so both Swedish people and immigrants, who completed Grundläggande level in Swedish language, study there. So now I am right here! and I have one more semester left until go to the next step to attend to University here.

At the end of SvAS 1 and SvAS 3 courses you have to write ‘Nationella prov’ (national test). It’s a school exam in Swedish, which is the same in all the schools in Sweden. This exam is considered to be very important. Swedish students who study Swedish as a subject on Gymnasium level and immigrants, studying Swedish as a foreign language, get the same test, but their papers are estimated differently. After completing SvAS3 level, you are allowed to apply for University programmes in Swedish language. So just like this. I am on my way.. hehe

Last February I've been back to Thailand for 3 weeks with my boyfriend's family for joining my wedding ceremony in Chiang Mai. We went to phuket for 5 days then in Chiang Mai for the rest of our trip. Well, I am Engaged :) So we will have a Swedish wedding ceremony again at church (Floda kyrka) in this coming summer. My family in Thailand will be here as well.. yippee!!! It´s gonna be fun! Have fun with some of my cool pics in CM under here!!

Have a great day. Bless you all :) Hey då

My great trip in Stavanger, Norway

It’s been more than 2 months since my last blog post, so I think I've firmly established the fact that I am not a regular blogger. Lately, I've been to visited one of my good friend who live in Stavanger, Norway and surely she will spend the rest of her life with her love one there :) I was there about 5 days with a super duper great accommodation from my friend. This post i want to share about my favorite things i have done on my trip, and yes i will show you guys my trip photos under the post. The second day after arrived we started our adventure with hike up to the Preikestolen mountain.
Preikestolen, in English meant the Preacher’s Pulpit or the Pulpit Rock, is located in the region of Rogaland, western region of southern Norway. The top of the cliff is about 600m above the Lysefjorden, and the famous Kjerag plateau is on the other side of the fjord.

Preikestolen is one of the most visited attractions in Norway. We reached the ferry crossing from Hathjem to Sandvik Vag, It was a 30 mins ferry ride. A total fee of  transpotation is NOK 250, then got on the bus up to the mountain in another 30 mins. When we arrived there, I looked up at the mountain I saw in the distance and thought that this was not going to be so bad. On the way up there! I am starting to get the hang of this climbing now and starting to dread the coming down part. My leg was shaking!! About 2 hours hike yeahhh we are up here!! its was worth to hike and very beautiful nature around. When i sat and rest, look around and i think how amazing that the nature created a wonderful place like this.

After 2 hours after enjoying the great weather and scenery, its was a good time for us to leave because its took us 1.5 hours hike back down and catch the bus back to the ferry. This hike was most definitely the highlight of my adventures in Norway and i would love to come back there again.

On the next other days my friend took me to see things around the stavanger city, Moi city and one place we have been is Flor & Fjære. its the very impressive island because you have to work hard to plant all the plants on the rocks island and keep them alive and so beautiful.

On the last day of my trip before my flight, my friend took me to Manafossen waterfall. Manoffossen is the highest waterfall in the Rogaland region and the most spectacular and this is my second hike. The drive was beautiful on the way and built up my anticipation for the hike to the waterfall. After arrived my friend said this hike would be about a 20 minute "climb" to the waterfall and we would hike over a lot of boulders and would need to hold on to a chain in some places. Oh my!  well i can do it anyway :D
They are beautiful, powerful and magnificent forces of God's creation. The Manafossen Waterfall makes a roaring sound as it falls 92 meters to the bottom. i felt fresh..Once we got to the top we took some time to do some posing, of course, in front of this magnificent waterfall. Everyone do it right??!!

So, what a wonderful trip i had. I loved the challenge of the hike and getting to experience the splendor of the Manafossen Waterfall. I think it would be fun to come back here someday and do the most adventurous hike of all in Stavanger. Kjeragbolten moutain is the one i missed it, 5 days is not enough actually.

Thank you so much everyone whom reading my blog experiences. Everyday now i am a full time student, i might not often to update  my blog but i will try do my best. Hope you guys enjoy reading and all my photos. Bless you, see ya

My first Swedish fairy tale!! (Prinsen och Stjärnan)

Prinsen och stjärnan

Nyfödda i mörkret

                                                                                                          Lyckligt slut.

LIVING LIFE!!

If you’re wondering where I’ve been these last tree months, the answer is: LIVING LIFE! As terrible as I feel about not updating my blog, it feels great to be too busy to post!  When you first move to a new country you have so much free time because you have not much things to do..Now though, especially this past three month, my life has been filled with studying most of the time, travel, fikas, writing papers, socializing, and everything in between.

On last new year i've been to Åre (Tagefjäll) again with the Twins host family to celebrate the new year there with them and their friends. Celebrating New Years in Sweden means one thing: Fireworks – everywhere.. 2013 was my second years living abroad in Sweden filled with adjusting, learning, struggles, accomplishments, and gain my new experiences in Life.

I thought I would share some recent learning experiences since I’ve been away. I’ve been back to Thailand for tree weeks in the late of January untill mid of Febuary,  That’s a great thing to be back home again even just for a short time! We went to Phuket as usual just one week then ahead back to Chiang Mai and stayed there for the rest of times. Very happy when i’ve seen my families, friends and my lovely cats.

Now i'm back to continue my study in sweden after finished SFI (Swedish for immigrants),I started my next step towards Swedish fluency last january – Svenska som Andra Språk grund,(Swedish as a Second Language)(SASG) (secondary school) at least 2-3 semesters until going to the next level. Education here for me at first it's quiet complicated to explain or understanding if you come to study as adult education, SAS is sort of an extension of  SFI,  only because you must finish SFI first and your ability in SFI determines your level in SAS. Confused yet?

SFI covers the basics of the language so that you can function at an Elementary level, while SAS is considered Middle School level. The “average” pace, SASG takes a total of 40 weeks. SAS is more specific and more like an actual class. Instead of talking about vocabulary, explaining, we read on our own and discuss “why?” and “what do you think?” together. Actually alot of new vocabs! but now I’m pretty excited to start reading something other than children’s books. :)

I'm have classes on mon- fri 8.30-16.30 or 10.30- 14.30 and also Yes Homeworks! I feel so exhausted after school,  but i have to be stand and keep studing until i touching my goal....It's might take me about 3-4 years to be a pre school teacher here. I will keep trying! I’m finally more settled into my Swedish life with things to do, places to go and people to see.

Sweden on March in this year is warm, a little of snow and melting in the same day, flowers start blooming, more sunshine day and getting dark later at 6 pm. but soon will be lighting until midnight..Tada......

Soon every 25th of March – is WAFFLE DAY! If you ever needed an excuse to eat waffles, here it is. haha soon soon.. Why is it Waffle Day? They say that it stems from the mispronunciation of “vårfrudagen” (Our Lady’s Day) to “våffeldagen” (Waffle Day).

Moving abroad turns your life upside down and inside out, it takes time to find yourself again, but never stop trying.
Life changes. Things get harder just because they are different. It doesn’t take much. You’re not where you thought you would be. Time flies. People change. Adjust. Make the best of it. Find balance. Never Stop Doing What You Love.... Love you ..
Vi ses, Hej då... kram kram :D

Hello Winter.....

Hello everyone! So looking at my past few posts I have realized it’s been a while since I last updated my blog. I feels like its my homework and I spend my days trying to remember what happened so I can write about it so,I'll try to write about memorable things that have happened.

Now winter is arrived, It is becoming so incredibly depressing seeing the sun go down at 3:30pm, and it’s setting sooner each day. One thing I’ve noticed about the darkness is that people are putting up more lights. I cant say for sure if they are Christmas lights, but they make me feel happy anyways .

SFI is getting more boring this week ,i can say i am not happy with class 3D at all. I think class 3C is more harder than class 3D and i gain alot of knowlege of Swedish language in that class. I feel really disappointed on class 3D. It was the teacher that was the problem and well I guess a bit of the schools fault for not correcting the problem even though so many people have complained. I miss my 3C class teacher, she is fantastic teacher in SFI.

I feel more better to go to study at Eductus ( A large, professional company that helps people to find jobs and offer education nationwide.) Its another class i go to study everyday after SFI but my time at Eductus is ended and i hope i can start again next January for another 6 months. Everyday  I mostly just go to SFI class come home, make dinner, then watch tv and do some studying here and there. I am looking forward to next January when i will start SAS Grund nivå (primary school)

I’ve gotten pretty good with my Swedish by speak with my friends at school who can't speak english, talking with my bf or swedish peoples around when i am out for something, but there are still times when I suddenly feel shy or nervous for some reason.

This year i got a bit earlier xmas gift. It is a new boots for my feet to survive in this winter again. I had a problem with my toe when i was here in my first winter in Sweden. Its called Chilblains until now. I am starting iitchy all my toe but i hope this year gonna be better then last other year keep fingers crossed...

Soon in every window there will be the “Star lights”. everywhere full of snow, the tea candles, the pepparkakor (gingerbread), hearing Santa Lucia echo against the walls of a cathedral, ice skating, the amazing pink sky. The Christmas markets, lovikka mittens, scarves, hat that swallowed my head... that stuff was all quite nice.
Though I am dreading the disappearance of the sun, the arrival of Christmas, snow, and all things cozy. Swedish Winter, I ask that you be a little more gentle this year (I’d like to continue riding my bike), but know that I appreciate you for the above reasons and also for the fact that you make the anticipation of spring and endless summer nights that much more intense.

Jag älska mitt liv in sverige.

Thanks you to come to visit my blog. Bye for now see again in next post soon! Bless you
Vi ses.. Hej då!.... puss o kram
